Born and raised in South Africa, Rabbi Sandor Milun graduated with a degree in accounting and economics before acquiring a black belt in judo, and representing South Africa at the Maccabi Games. After living for 6 years in Israel, he joined the Jewish Experience of Madison (JEM) in 2007 as program director and after 3 and a half years living on campus with 5,000 Jewish students moved to London and took a role in JLE’s campus department. In 2014 Sandor became JLE’s Campus Director.
Sandor’s life vision: developing opportunities and engaging our youth in the community ensuring positive change through social action and education, fits perfectly with GIFT’s mission to inspire giving. His energy, enthusiasm and enterprising nature coupled with his determined mindset are a natural fit to spearhead the GIFT team.
Rabbi Naftali Schiff has always been seized with this idea that I see as fundamental: that the impact we have through our programmes should not be transactional, but transformational. It shouldn’t be aimed at keeping the train on the track, it should be aimed at changing young people’s lives. Because that is how you really make a difference to the Jewish future.
